June 15 - 16, 2022 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM
This training is intended for substance use prevention professionals in Texas.
About the EIP Training:
Developed by SAMHSA’s former Center for the Application of Prevention Technologies (CAPT) and adapted for Texas, our Ethics in Prevention (EIP) training provides participants with an opportunity to explore the role and application of ethics in prevention work. Throughout EIP, participants explore practical information and guidance, engage in both small- and large-group discussions of key concepts, and identify action steps to facilitate future application. Interactive activities and discussions help participants become familiar with the six principles of the Prevention Code of Ethics and practice applying an ethical decision-making process to assess, address, and evaluate a range of ethical issues.
Continuing Education Hours: 6.5*
Satisfactory completion of continuing education hours (CEHs) requires attending at least 85% of the training duration, participating in activities (e.g., polls, breakout rooms), and completing the training evaluation.
This EIP is virtual, occurring live over Zoom. It will take place over 2 days. All participants are required to join on camera and expected to fully engage in the training to be eligible to receive a Continuing Education (CE) certificate upon completion. Participants do not need a Zoom account to attend the training – you may attend through any internet browser option if you do not want to download the app.
This training is limited to 20 participants. You must submit a registration and be approved to attend (you will receive an email approving or denying your registration). Registration priority will given to substance use prevention providers who have never completed an EIP training previously.
